Year One Nearing Its Close

August 12 - just over two months until our one year anniversary. I can't say it's been an uneventful year, but our relationship has been pretty eventful since the beginning. Year one has seen: marriage, two moves, completion of rehab of a rental unit, continuing work to rehab our own place, one new nephew...I think that's it so far. But, it isn't over yet : )

Having completed the rental side of the duplex we live in (as of last weekend) is definitely a load off. This has been our focus in this honeymoon year since early February. Friday to Saturday morning we worked about 12 hours on the final touches. Finishing trim paint, door repair, hanging window blinds, and extensive cleaning from 6 PM 'til 6:3o AM, brief sleep, then up again at 8:40 AM to meet the locksmith and the new tenant. But now we have only our place to focus on - at least in reference to the house.

We may take a vacation for our anniversary. We shall see.
